Aruba

Parasailing. Snorkeling. Horseback riding. Soaking up the sun.  Yes, these activities would interest anyone. Where can you go that offers all of these on one beautiful island? Well, the answer is simple. Just take a trip to Aruba!
Aruba is an island located in the Caribbean Sea and is part of the Lesser Antilles. This island is only about 69 square miles, but it has a population of about 103,000. Aruba is rich with culture and history. Today, it is a country that is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but is heavily influenced by the Dutch, Portuguese, and Spanish. This creates an atmosphere that is unique to the island. Although Dutch and Papiamento-a combination of Portuguese, West African, Dutch, and Spanish- are the official languages, many natives are fluent in English, Spanish, German, and French. So even if you can’t speak Papiamento, there are bound to be natives who can tell you about the best restraunts, local hotspots, and prettiest beaches.
Aruba is an island that fosters a care free attitude. When you are there you can feel your troubles blow away in the sea breeze. Aruba’s sun kissed beaches allow for a relaxing and soothing way to soak up the rays. Whether you wish to simply read your book on the beach or take advantage of the many water sport activities that are offered, you can be sure that the combination of warm weather, soft sand, and subtle breeze will make you never want to leave.
Aruba offers world class restaurants, exotic sea life, and historic architecture. There is always an adventure to be had. Whether you are in the ocean hunting for buried treasure or hiking through natural caves, you can be sure that this island will put a smile on your face. After all, they call it “one happy island” for a reason.
